James C.G. Heward

James is a third generation Heward and head of a portfolio management firm that traces its roots back to 1925. James Heward started his career with Canada Trust in 1983, where he specialized in personal and pension trusts. In 1989, James Heward joined Heward and became President in 1993. Today, James is responsible for overall operations and business development, including: strategic direction, product development, marketing and client relations. James Heward also serves on the Portfolio Management Association of Canada (PMAC) Board, the Montreal Children’s Hospital ‘Best of Care’ Board, the Weredale Foundation, and is a past President of both the Canadian Association of Family Enterprises (CAFE) in Montreal and the Estate and Planning Council of Montreal.

Geoffrey T. B. Heward

Also a third generation Heward and portfolio management professional, Geoffrey Heward began his career with Cazenove & Co. in London, England, in 1986. Later, he returned to Canada and joined Merrill Lynch in Toronto, focusing on international equities. Geoff has extensive investment experience having also worked with Sanwa Bank, Scotia Capital Markets and Desjardins Securities, where he held the position of Vice President, Equity Capital Markets. In 2007, having lived away from Montreal for more than 20 years, Geoff returned to join the family firm. Today, Geoff’s primary areas of focus include: investment strategy, international markets, business development and client services.

Charles C. Gagnon

Charles is one of the founders of the Amphora Financial Group and its Chairman of the Board.

Charles is a Canadian citizen who holds civil and common law degrees with honours from McGill University. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF), the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He is a seasoned speaker at tax conferences and has published several papers on tax topics. He has extensive expertise in the structuring and implementation of corporate, trust and insurance solutions.

He is listed in the latest edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada and Who’s Who Legal.

Louis Galardo

Louis is the founder of the Ventrum Group of Companies established in 1986. Ventrum is a privately-held real estate development group based in Montreal, Canada. Over the past thirty years, it has developed several neighbourhood retail malls in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. In addition to its Canadian retail portfolio, it owns a large neighbourhood mall located in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and a portfolio of office properties in Quebec.

Louis has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

He has also served as a part-time lecturer at Concordia University in Corporate and Real Estate Financing.

Stuart Iversen

Stuart Iversen is the founder and principal of Cairnmont Inc. (whose predecessor partnership he founded in 1993).

Born in Montreal and educated at McGill, Oxford and Laval Universities, he was called to the Quebec Bar in 1988 and practiced from 1988 to 1993 in a large Montreal law firm in the area of wealth management.

He is a director of Cayzer Continuation PCC Ltd., numerous private companies, foundations and non-profit organizations.
