With more than 25 years of experience in the investment and wealth management industry, Éric Lapointe is recognized for his entrepreneurial leadership, strategic vision, and ability to guide families, entrepreneurs, and investors through complex financial matters.
As President and Chief Executive Officer of Heward Investment Management, Éric plays a central role in the evolution of the firm and in the development of its integrated approach to wealth management and family services. A trusted advisor to several families and entrepreneurs, he is known for building long-term relationships grounded in discipline, trust, and a deep understanding of his clients’ financial, entrepreneurial, and intergenerational objectives.
Throughout his career, Éric has been actively involved in portfolio management, strategic business development, and the structuring of integrated family office services. He is particularly recognized for his entrepreneurial mindset, his ability to modernize organizations, and his long-term approach focused on capital preservation and wealth creation. His philosophy combines disciplined investment management with a broader understanding of issues relating to family, governance, succession, and wealth transfer.
A graduate of Mount Allison University, Éric holds a double bachelor’s degree with honours in Literature and Finance. He also distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished university football players of his generation in Canada. A two-time recipient of the Hec Crighton Trophy, awarded to the top university football player in the country, he established several national records during his career with the Mounties.
A former professional player in the Canadian Football League, he won the Grey Cup twice, in 1999 and 2002, and appeared in five Grey Cup championship games throughout his career. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
Éric also serves as Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the Royal 22e Régiment. As part of this role, he travelled to Afghanistan on two occasions to support members of the Canadian Armed Forces, reflecting his strong commitment to leadership, service, and community involvement.
Deeply involved in community and philanthropic initiatives, Éric previously served as President of the Alumni Association of the Montreal Alouettes as well as Chairman of Maison Enfant Soleil. He also supports several organizations and foundations dedicated to youth, education, and athletic development, including Youth In Mind Foundation, Fondation Aléo, Breakfast Club of Canada, and the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence du Québec.
Today, he continues to lead the growth and modernization of the firm while remaining closely involved with clients, helping families navigate increasingly complex financial environments with discipline, clarity, and a long-term perspective.
